The desert ends at a left that can run for 200 meters.
El Hueco sits above the point in Lobitos. Check the line from your balcony, walk down with your board, then come back to a table run by a chef who knows the coast.
Stay

Choose the water in front of you or a quieter duplex set back toward the garden.

Come alone. You won't surf alone.
Everyone is here to surf. You meet over breakfast, paddle out together, and come back to the same table at night. Solo travelers fit in quickly. There is a good chance you leave with friends to meet on another coast.

South and southwest swell bring the point to life. The prime window runs from March through October.
The route
Fly Lima to Talara. Christoph can arrange the 45 minute transfer. Piura is the longer fallback at about two hours.
